Patroits, Steelers Head to Superbowl 39
From NFL.com: ``Philadelphia finally killed its demons and reached its first Super Bowl in 24 years with a 27-10 victory against Atlanta. New England, however, proved it's still the team to beat after handing the Pittsburgh Steelers a sobering 41-27 defeat. The Patriots will aim for their third NFL title in four years when the teams meet Feb. 6 in Jacksonville in Super Bowl XXXIX (6:30 p.m. ET on FOX).'' Opinion: The Falcons shouldn't have been there, being a .500 team at the end of the regular season. All the Eagles had to do was show up and use their B game; the Falcons fell apart, representing everything that was the worst performing conference in years. In the other game, the Steelers gave it a go and kept it exciting, further proving the dominance of the AFC in the '04-'05 season. Look for the Patriots to go home with the Superbowl ring.

Tonight Show Host, Carson, Dead at 79
From CNN, ``Johnny Carson, the "Tonight Show" TV host who served America a smooth nightcap of celebrity banter, droll comedy and heartland charm for 30 years, has died. He was 79. "Mr. Carson passed away peacefully early Sunday morning," his nephew, Jeff Sotzing, said. Nearly all of Carson's professional life was spent in television, from his postwar start at Nebraska stations in the late 1940s to his three decades with NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson."'' PBA: Bohn Wins 30th Career Title
From PBA.com: “Parker Bohn III reached another milestone in his storied career Sunday, becoming just the fifth bowler to collect at least 30 PBA Tour titles when he defeated Robert Smith, 288-235, in the title match of the PBA El Paso Classic at Oasis Lanes.” With the recent appearances of Bohn and Norm Duke to the finals, it would appear some of the "old timers" have finally adapted their game to the new lane oil pattern.
